Titanic 2...by the Asylum

I don't know the whos, hows and whys like if James Cameron had any involvement or if Asylum purchased the official rights or not. But what I do know is that the video below is not a fan-made project and is a 100% legit film entitled Titanic 2. Yup the Asylum is at it again with some groundbreaking cinema including cast members such as Bruce Davison and Brooke Burns. Maybe they should have consulted the dangers of working for The Asylum with William Katt first.

From what I gather in this trailer, 100 years after the tragic voyage of Titanic, a second one sets off its own maiden voyage taking the exact same course as its predecessor...to the same results.

Look I didn't believe it was real until I saw the video, so without further ado please, errr, enjoy. And don't look for Leo or Kate either.

It looks more like an action flick than the original, which is a major plus. But... basically it looks like a remake. I like the concept that the same thing could/would happen again, because it gives me that creepy little shiver, buuuut... I wouldn't watch a movie about it.

What a terrible direction to go in. Would have been much better as a ghost story. Think about it, you could do so many cool things: passengers, crews. It could be like The Shining but on a boat.

Allison - The company that made this film is by The Asylum and is probably the most original concept they have ever come up with. They usually make rip-off straight-to-DVD trash of upcoming major films about to be released. For example, I am surprised they didn't make a film called Dinner For Dummies before Dinner with Schmucks was released. They are god awful.

PoT - If you wrote it, I will star in it as the short ugly ship ghost. I didn't think of that concept but that is a more intriguing idea dude. I know people would say "blah blah Ghost Ship blah blah", but I would actually pay to see a movie like that instead of one like this. I mean come on, the same iceberg is still there on the same path? after all this time. WTF? Jaws The Revenge has a more believable plot line.

Looks like an episode for a crappy SyFy Channel show.

I think it looks decent, actually - not that I would ever see it. I like the fact that Leo is NOT in it. I thought he was lousy in Titanic and should've drowned.

Well, I'll tell ya...I never saw the first Titanic movie. I was all excited to see it, and then I found out it was a 'love story'. That killed it for me. Always hated love stories.
The way I figure, if you already ARE in love, who cares about seeing some strangers kissing? And if you are NOT in love, and want to be, well, that doesn't make it any easier!

Regarding the legal issue, I don't think there would be one unless the movie was ripping off the characters of the original Titanic. I think the name of the ship itself is probably in public domain now.

Wow, that looks like an absurdly terrible movie. Are they actually going to make that movie?

Wow, Hollywood comes up with some sucky ideas.

Wow.

I'm actually a big fan of Asylum's movies, because I'm a big fan of bad movies. Like MST3K-type movies. I mean "megashark vs giant octopus" is one of the all-time worst. But at the same time, Asylum isn't just cranking out knock offs. They actually do try. Like "megashark" features the giant shark eating a plane. That's awesome. And I read an article about the torturous shooting for AVH. They actually did have a semi- decent script, but the director was more interested in his iphone than shooting the movie. Google it.

That said, "Titanic 2" looks so bad even I won't watch it. In what world would anyone decide to name a modern ship Titanic? And who in their right minds would sail on it? While they're at it, why not take a ride on the new airship Hindenburg? Or vote for that new preisdential candidate, Adolf Hitler?
